Sleeping Tips?
Okay blog friends. Please give your tips on getting a 3 year old to go to bed at night. Lately, Michael has decided that the hours of 8 pm to 12 midnight are tantrum time. There seems to be nothing that will get him to stay in his room. (He is welcome to play quietly in his room, but he needs to stay in his room!)
We're a little tired from the screaming, crying, and banging! Thankfully Matthew is a heavy sleeper.
So what are your tips for getting a 3 year old to bed?
P.S. Why is it that when you run a spell-check on a blog entry, that the word "blog" always comes up as an unknown word? You'd think the blog dictionary would carry that one!

My tip is to do what you did in the more recent post -- wear him out. My kids were super active and so this meant I wore ME out in the process of wearing THEM out. There is nothing like physical activity at the park or on a nice walk to help make sleep time better.
You are right on -- don't make it a battle. If he can hang out quietly in his room it will help him learn to wind down on his own. Check out the "Love and Logic" stuff -- I wish I'd discovered it sooner! Good luck!
