Update from Durham

Thanks to my friends at Right Pundits for posting about the NC Bar investigation of DA Mike Nifong in the Duke rape case.

According to Associated Press reports:

The North Carolina bar filed ethics charges yesterday against the prosecutor in the Duke lacrosse rape case, accusing him of saying misleading and inflammatory things to the media about the athletes under suspicion. The punishment for ethics violations can range from admonishment to disbarment.

It's definitely a step in the right direction. But it seems to me that this guy needs to be investigated for more than just "saying misleading and inflammatory things to the media". What about intentionally withholding evidence from the defense that would exonerate the accused? Seems to be a much bigger issue to me.

Hopefully this is the first of many steps that need to be made to rectify this ridiculous situation.
