Cookie Baking!

Today we did a Valentine cookie bake at church. The children (and their parents) got together to bake and decorate cookies, which we later delivered to seniors and homebound members of the church.

Decorating the cookies was a blast! Michael always has fun with that. And lots of his friends from church-school were there. Matthew is still a bit young, but he had fun hanging out with the other toddlers in attendance.

But the best part was delivering the cookies. Especially to the senior living community we went to. Everyone was so excited to see a couple of cute little boys walking through the halls. Michael and Matthew put so many huge smiles on so many faces. Michael wished everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. The seniors to whom we delivered cookies were especially thrilled. It is so nice to make a difference in someone's day, even if it is only once.

After our visits today, we are going to try to see if we can regularly visit one of the people we met today. With no family in the area, the boys don't get to see older folks too often. We think it is really important that they do. So maybe we can try to make a difference in someone's day.... more than once.
