Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 6th wedding anniversary! And boy was it a nice one!

We started out with dinner out at Soby's downtown. It's probably one of our favorite restaurants. If you haven't been there, be sure to try to she-crab soup and the fried green tomatoes with pimento fondue for starters! Yumm!

Then Greg had planned a big surprise for me. A night at the Hyatt! Yep, he had called my parents a few weeks ago and asked if they would watch the boys overnight while we stayed out all night. Since my parents were already planning to be here at this time, they jumped on the opportunity!

The overnight was a really big deal. We're some of those overprotective parents who are totally overcautious on leaving our kids with people. We've only had a paid babysitter once, and this was only the second time we've been away from the boys overnight. (The other time was when we had to fly down here for a weekend to buy a house before we move. Mom Mom & Pop Pop watched them then too.) I'm so glad that Greg has enough trust in my parents that he would trust our most precious boys to them overnight. That's a big compliment, especially since we obviously don't do that much!

So we checked in to the hotel and decided to watch a movie. We ordered "Little Miss Sunshine". It was a nice movie. I think we both enjoyed it. And then we crashed! We slept solidly all night, except for being woke up twice by loud people in the hallway around 2 am. I guess the bars had just closed. UGH. But we went right back to sleep.

We were up around 7 am (just can't break habit!), and had a nice breakfast at the hotel. Then we walked down to Coffee Underground for some tasty caffeine drinks. Finally back to the house.

Mom Mom & Pop Pop said the boys did great! They all went to Chick Fil A for dinner, and the boys played really well in the play area. At bedtime, Michael was missing us. But after a few "I want my Mommy" sobs, he was right to sleep until 7:15 this morning! Matthew also went right to bed. Other than waking up to be changed around 10 pm, he slept through as well. Lucky Mom Mom & Pop Pop!

The boys were also treated to some of Pop Pop's Pancakes this morning! Pop Pop is known in our family for his delicious pancakes.

So I'll wrap this up by saying Happy 6th Anniversary to the best hubby in the world! And a huge thank you to the best Mom Mom & Pop Pop a couple boys could ever have!
