Sad Evening
Michael is having a rough time though. We weren't even back out to the highway when he started saying, "Michael misses Mom Mom & Pop Pop." Mommy too, my sweet boy.
Then the crying started. And continued. And continued. I haven't seen him that upset in a long time. So we had to bail on our plans to go to the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper at church. Instead we made Mickey Mouse pancakes at home. Finally the crying stopped.
Meanwhile, Matthew was in the back of the car with Michael. As Michael cried, Matthew kept trying to give him his stuffed froggie. That froggie goes everywhere with Matthew. It's his little lovey. But he was so in tune to Michael's pain that he wanted to do the best thing he could think of to help. Share froggie.
I am so glad that the boys enjoyed the visit so much. It means so much to me to see the love exchanged between them and Mom Mom and Pop Pop. I just wish it could be more often.
Ah well... a few more months and I'm sure Michael and Matthew will be in grandson heaven again!
I'll post a little about some things we did during the visit later....
