Hippity Hoppity
One week left until Easter, so this weekend it was time to get in to bunny mode.
Yesterday while Greg was at school, I decided to visit the "Easter Eggstravaganza" sponsored by the Greenville County Recreation District. Remind me next year to skip this one.
I really looked forward to taking the boys to the Easter egg hunt. Should be fun, right? Well, the kids checked in at the desk and were allowed in to the woods to find five... yes FIVE... plastic eggs. That was the limit.
If that's not bad enough, the eggs were empty. No candy, no goldfish, not even some stickers.
As if THAT is not bad enough, coming out of the woods we were told to pick up our "goody bags". So I figured that's where the egg hunt treats would be. Well, it was a cute bag alright. But all it contained was a program flyer for the recreation district and a half-sheet coloring page.
Then there were a bunch of "games" for the kids to play. The lines were so long that we didn't even attempt one.
The bounce houses and inflatable slides were great for Michael. But it is hard for a 3 1/2 year old in a small bounce house when they are letting in much older kids too. Like around 10 years old.
So we paid $5 per child for the "Eggstravaganza" and left with 10 empty plastic eggs, 2 recreation department flyers, and 2 half-sheet coloring pages. Someone is making a lot of money on this one!
When Greg got home from school, we all went out to dinner, and then to the mall to meet the Easter Bunny. The boys did great! Both of them climbed right up on to the bunny's lap, and Michael very politely asked the Easter Bunny for a special gift. The EB assured him that his gift would be there Easter morning.
That reminds me. We're going to have to take the boys by Greg's school one of these weekends. Michael is convinced that when Greg goes to school, they "go outside and play on the playground" and "have Easter egg hunts". Of course I have seen some students in graduate schools whose academic dedication was along the lines of playgrounds and egg hunts. But that is certainly not Greg, nor his program!

How terrible! I'm glad I didn't know about this because we probably would have gone and been disappointed. 5 eggs? So you paid $1 per empty egg. Wow! Does your Mom's Club do an egg hunt? Ours is having one tomorrow. Sounds like fun. That is too bad that the extravaganza was such a disappointment. Cute picture with the bunny though. We may try that tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. I will definately remember not to go to it in the future.
The Easter Bunny picture is adorable! You got two cuties!
Have a blessed day!
