What is Wrong With These Situations?

According to the Greenville News online today, a 6 year-old girl in Lancaster, SC was killed today driving an all-terrain-vehicle (ATV). Not only was she driving it, she was not wearing a helmet.

Last week, I saw a man on a motorcycle with a 5 or 6 year-old passenger on a major road. At least in that case the child was wearing a helmet.

What in the world makes parents or any other adults think that this is a good idea? Six year old kids should be riding big-wheels and bicycles (with helmets at all times!). The should be playing with balls, trucks, dolls, and other toys.

They do not have any business being on motorcycles and ATV's! Much less driving them!

I feel so bad for these poor kids. They deserve better than what they are getting. I guess their parents just prove that "survival-of-the-fittest" does not apply to today's human race.

All the kids who ride them in our neighborhood where helmets but I have seen plenty who don't. I agree with you completely!

My state just passed age restrictions on ATV use. They are a lot more dangerous than people realize.
