Great System For Missing Kids

Unfortunately right now there is a 4 year old boy missing in Greenville, SC. He's been missing since 10 am this morning.

I was excited to see something in the online news story though. "The "A Child Is Missing" automated phone notification system was activated. A call describing Javion was automatically made to all homes within a three mile radius of his home."

Wow! How great is that? Amber Alerts are great, but they rely on people taking the steps to be on a distribution system (like email), watch highway signs, or watch the news. The "A Child Is Missing" system brings the information directly to the people. They don't have to do anything and the system will let them know that a child is missing.

Just in case anyone from the Greenville area is reading this, from Greenville Online:
Javeion Mayes, who is black, was last seen at about 10 a.m. at Hollywood Circle in the Greenline community, Greenville Cpl. Jason Rampey said. He was wearing an orange shirt with Street Basketball Player written on it and a basketball and a basketball goal. He also was wearing green shorts.
Rampey said he is three foot tall and weighs 33 pounds. He has a scar beside his right eye, Rampey said.

There is a picture of his identical twin brother on Greenville Online as well.
