The Meaning of ABC's

Sunday after church, we were headed to the grocery store. Michael enjoys reading the store signs, to figure out which store we're going to...

"That is Bi-Lo!"
"That is Ingles Market!"
"That is Publix!"
"That is Chick Fil A!"

Apparently he is noticing far more signs that we were aware of. For as we pulled in to the Bi-Lo parking lot, Michael said, "We are not going to the ABC store."

Greg and I immediately starting cracking up. See, every liquor store in South Carolina is marked with the letters ABC and a big red dot (apparently for the illiterate?).

ABC in South Carolina means Alcohol Beverage Control.

Since Michael has never been in an ABC store (and neither have I, actually), I'm sure he figured that the ABC store was some kind of cool kids store.

Hopefully this is not some kind of clever marketing to lure kids in early so they will buy lots of booze later!

Seriously though, those "out of the mouths of babes" comments can be so hilarious!
