The Britney Spears Saga
Let me start off by saying that I could give a hoot about Britney Spears. But you just can't get away from stories about her these days. All the major news channels are talking about the latest developments in her downward-spiraling life.
Other people's lives are apparently where we get our entertainment these days.
People were entertained when she shaved her head. People laughed at her performance on some music awards show. People talk about her latest fashion mistakes.
And now people are talking about her children. It seems that their little faces are on the front of several gossip magazines coming out in the next few days. Yep, mommy is messed up, daddy's not much better, and the children are apparently fair game.
IT IS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE!
I don't care if anyone is being entertained by the mishaps of Britney Spears. She is an adult. (Although I will say that as a mom of two boys under the age of four, I understand how difficult it can be, and can imagine how without good people around you, it can be disastrous.)
But the children are NOT fair game. Leave them alone. They are beautiful, innocent little boys who did not ask for any of this.
I just hope that the people who are close to these boys will come to their senses and do what is best for the children. After all, children are the most important responsibility any of us will ever have. I don't know why the parents are acting the way they are. But perhaps someone also needs to say to them...
