Caesar's Head State Park

We continued our visit of Upstate South Carolina state parks yesterday with a visit to Caesar's Head. It is on a rocky outcropping on one of the highest mountains in the state.

Wow! The view from up there is amazing! It was a little overcast when we were there, so we couldn't see all the way back to Greenville. But normally you can.

Here is a picture I took just before sunset. The lake you see in the picture is the lake at Table Rock State Park, where we visited last weekend.
e also finally got around to taking a picture of a street sign that always makes us laugh when we're up in the mountains. The main road across the base of the mountain ridge is SC Route 11, or the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway. Here and there you see signs for "Old Route 11". But this one must be really old!
