Charleston Visit
We spent a couple days this week visiting Charleston, SC. Greg had business there on Thursday, so he arranged Friday off, and we all went along for the trip!
Thursday the boys and I visited the South Carolina Aquarium. It was really nice! While were there, we got an extra treat. Ten C-17 planes flew down the Cooper river in a line! Wow! I told the boys they might never see something like that again! We also walked through the old market before heading back to get Greg.
Dinner that evening was at Hyman's Seafood. It was recently rated the top seafood restaurant in the South by Southern Living Magazine readers. It was certainly good. But the crabcakes still do not compare to the ones at The Wharf in Alexandria. Oh how I miss The Wharf!
Friday morning it was raining, so we went to the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry. Another fun children's museum! As always, the boys especially enjoyed shopping in the pretend grocery store.
For lunch we stopped at Bubba Gump Shrimp. Sound familiar? It's a takeoff on the Forrest Gump movie, which was filmed all around the lowcountry. That's one of my favorite movies, so I thought it was all pretty neat. The food was really yummy too!
Then we had our big city tour. Mom Mom told us the one thing we HAD to do in Charleston was go on a private carriage ride. Her treat. Thankfully the weather cleared up, and we had a wonderful ride!!!! Thanks mom!! Here is a picture of us in the carriage!

Mark and I really enjoyed Charleston when we there six years ago. I'd love to go back.
