Rainy Day Musings
It's raining here in the Upstate. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but when you've been in "extreme drought" conditions, it's something to celebrate! That, and we are hoping that all the wet weather puts a damper on the neighborhood fireworks at midnight on New Year's. Sorry folks, we're asleep and don't care to be awoken!
I found out yesterday that registration for next year's kindergarten classes starts on January 16th. I can't believe it. We're less than 3 weeks from registering Michael for kindy. He can't be that old, can he?
There's nothing more annoying that trying to visit a store and finding out that they open an hour later than the time listed on their website. Happened to me today. I figured I'd go hang out at Panera with a cup of coffee, but they weren't open either. What's a girl supposed to do when she's ready to shop and everything is closed?
Oh yeah, shop online!
Our big trip to Europe next summer is off. My entire family was going to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary and my mom's 75th birthday. But the boys are just not good travellers. We decided that at ages 5 and 2 1/2, it's just too early. So the rest of the family will go and celebrate, and we'll meet up with them all in the States for a mini-celebration later.
Kind of a bummer... I haven't been to Europe in 11 years, and I used to go about every 3 years. But it's not the right trip to take right now. Europe will still be there in a few years!
And now we are off to watch the Redskins game on tv. We just don't get to watch them too often down in these parts!

How funny! I'm doing the exact same thing, except here it's referred to as "the Cowboys game!"
OK, today it's "the Redskins game!"
(hanging head, we're just resting for the play-offs, this one didn't count anyway)
