A Full-Time Job!

It seems like I've taken on a second unpaid full-time job! Staying at home with the boys is a job in itself, but navigating all this autism stuff is another job in itself!

Today I have been working on a TEFRA application. In order to qualify for the PDD-Waiver program in South Carolina, you have to apply for TEFRA.

Do you know how much paperwork there is for TEFRA?

I have to provide documentation for all the specialists Michael has seen. (That's about 6 at last count.) I have to provide documentation for all the evaluations Michael has had. (I can't even count all of those!)

Copies, signatures.... on and on!

And then there is my other project of figuring out the whole process of getting services through the school system, and getting an acceptable IEP.

Shew!

But on the good side....

(Well, other than the fact that I am doing all this work for an absolutely fabulous boy, so it is totally worth it!)

I may be having an audience with the Speaker of the State House of Representatives in the next couple months to discuss autism services in the state! Wow! It seems with all of this I am turning in to the little legislative advocate!

And on another good side, my parents are here visiting, so I am able to get all this stuff done without interruption! Hopefully I will be finished by the end of the day!
