The Elevator & The Easter Bunny
Happy Easter everyone! I just had to post about our amazing experience today!Last year, we had Easter Brunch at the Greenville Hilton. The Easter Bunny was there visiting all the kids. To Michael, the Hilton immediately became "The Easter Bunny Hotel".
Whenever we drive down the highway in to Greenville, he points it out and calls it by it's special name. And he made it very clear that we were to go to brunch at the Easter Bunny Hotel again this year.
Michael also has a fascination with elevators. He has to ride them everywhere we go. He kept talking about wanting to ride the elevator at the Easter Bunny Hotel.
So when I made our brunch reservations this year, I made a special request. Could Michael possibly take a ride on the elevator with the Easter Bunny?
Well, I got a call from the Director of Sales, who was incredibly kind. He said to ask for him by name when we came for brunch. See, he has a son with aspergers.
So that is what we did today. Mr. Bennett came to our table, and explained to Michael that if he ate all his food and listened to his parents, the Easter Bunny would take him for a ride on the elevator when he was all done. He was so kind to Michael.
Michael got to ride the elevator with the Easter Bunny all the way to the top floor. We got to see all the sites from up high, and got a private tour of "the Easter Bunny's living room". They were probably with us for 20 minutes.
The Hilton really made Michael's day today. And I must admit, they made this mommy's day too. To take the time to do this for Michael, especially on such a busy day, really shows a commitment to more than just selling food and hotel rooms. I am incredibly grateful!

Okay, you made me cry! Thank you for sharing a great story. I believe that people make the decision to be decent when we give them the opportunity. By calling ahead you set everyone up to win -- both the hotel and Michael. Given advance notice people can plan to do a small wonder for a child. You are a great mom! Thanks for a great story!
YEAH!!!! I was thinking of Michael on Easter and so hoped he was riding that elevator. I am THRILLED to hear that it all worked out. Woohoo!!!
