Michael's Chapel Service

All afternoon, Michael has been playing "chapel service". He set up at his white board, drawing a cross, flowers on each side, and candles on each side. He's got all his stuffed animals lined up in chairs, and he is leading the service. It's been going on for over 2 hours now. (Thank goodness he hasn't learned to PREACH yet!)

Cute enough, right? Well, remember that Michael has an autism spectrum disorder. I've never seen him sing in front of people. I've never seen him participate in a chapel service. In these kinds of environments, he typically just sits there doing nothing.

Here is a movie clip of his service. He does a great job! Although he does need to work on his wording of the Children's Creed. I'll put his words below the movie in case you can't understand him...

His Creed:

"I believe I am God above.
I am a Jesus' love.
I believe that I'm.. um... I don't know that one.
I believe I must true and loving God like you.
Amen."

That was so precious. Isn't it amazing what they are soaking in when we aren't sure if anything is getting through?!
