Quindecillion
It all started when Michael got the "letter bag" at school a few weeks ago. His job was to bring in several items that started with the letter-of-the-week to share with the class.
He got Q. (I pity the person who got X!)
Michael loves numbers. So he wanted to take in some number that started with a Q. He counted through to 100, finding not a single Q-number.
In stepped Daddy. Who turned to the internet to find the solution. The result was 4 different numbers beginning with the letter Q.
Today I was driving downtown with Michael, and I asked him, "Michael, what is your favorite number?" And this is how the conversation progressed...
Michael: "Quindecillion!"
Me: "Wow! That is a big number!"
Michael: "I am not going to grow up to be quindecillion..."
Me: "No, [chuckle chuckle] you are not."
Michael: "...because I would be taller than the ceiling."
Me: "Yes, you would!"
Michael: "...and I would break the ceiling... and I would break the sky... and I would break space!"
Me: "Why yes Michael, you would!"
Since Michael thinks in terms of each year a person getting bigger, I can see how he thinks one would "break space" if they grew to be a quindecillion!
Such a cutie pie!
Oh, for those who are wondering, quindecillion is defined as 10 to the 48th power. In other words:
1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Ooooh, he is cute!! This makes me smile! :)
On our blog, you asked about saying goodbye to Michael's early interventionist. I don't have any tips, really, on how to prepare for it with Michael because at this point Jacob doesn't really understand that someone isn't going to be coming back, and he doesn't ask about people when they are gone. I am sure he misses them, but it's not something he can communicate yet.
We have kept contact with most of the IAs (our therapy provider calls them "instructional assistants") who have worked with Jacob long enough to strike up a bond with him and then have left the company. I give them all our blog address so they can check in and see how Jacob is doing, and they have an open invitation to stop by and see him anytime in the future. I also send them occasional e-mails to update them and see how they are doing too.
Maybe if your provider is comfortable with it, you could set up a time for her to talk with Michael on the phone every now and then, or just have her e-mail you pictures/videos of herself occasionally. That might help him because it's not saying goodbye so much as just that he'll see LESS of her.
All that aside, I think it's AWESOME that Michael is able to let you know that she means so much to him. What a gift!!
That was lovely :)
My Michael asks me to get on the scale so he can see how tall I am - so glad he hasn't figured out the whole weight thing yet!
What a great number!!!
Jack is a little obsessed with Infinity at the moment... wait til I show him this!
