Skyscraper!

Michael has wanted to visit a skyscraper for quite a while. He is fascinated by them. Especially counting the floors.

Every time we drive in to downtown Greenville, he calls out when he sees the "skyscrapers". Of course there probably isn't one that reaches more than 20 floors.

Fortunately through church we know the owner of one of Greenville's "skyscrapers". I talked to his wife about Michael possibly riding the elevator in the building so he can experience his dream of going in a skyscraper.

The answer was "of course!".

So last Thursday we took a walk to the Bank of America building. Michael was so excited. We went in the elevator and he pushed the button for floor 16! The highest floor in the building. Of course there was nothing there to see, so we went back down to floor 12.

This is where the headquarters of TIC Properties is. My friend had suggested that if no one was meeting in the conference room when we visited, Michael might be able to look out the window there. We went in and asked the receptionist.

She was so wonderful! She took us right in to the conference room and over to the windows. She was pointing out different sites, and what direction our house was in. Of course Michael was just interested in counting the floors on another skyscraper he could see out the window.

Michael has been talking about his trip to the skyscraper ever since! We can't wait until we take him to a big city where they have really big skyscrapers!

And many thanks to the owners and employees at TIC Properties who helped make one of Michael's dreams come true!

I'm proud of you Michael! I'm afraid of skyscrapers myself. I don't even like to look up at them much!

Maybe you'll be building skyscrapers one day. :-)

That's so cute! We went to a wedding in San Francisco last year and my son was just so excited about the tall buildings and going up and down in elevators (ohhhh, the counting that went on!). :)
