Michelle is Right!

Commenter Michelle brought out a good point. I haven't been talking about Matthew as much lately. I got caught up in Autism Awareness Month, and everything going on with Michael, and Matthew kind of got left behind.

Don't worry, that only happens in blog-world, not real-world!

Matthew is about to finish up his year in the Older Toddlers class at preschool. He's been going two mornings a week. Next year, he moves up to the big 2K class! (For those not in SC, that translates as "children who turn 2 before August 31, 2008".)

It's hard to believe he will be in 2K though. No, not because he's growing up so fast, but because it seems like he is older than that!

See, Matthew is a tall boy. Just took a break to measure him, and he is 39". At 29 months. When you look at the 50th percentile on the CDC growth charts, 39" is a 3 1/2 year old child. Matthew is not even 2 1/2 yet.

So he's tall, he's lean, and he's very physical. He looks nothing like his age.

But he's definitely still 2 1/2. He still insists on sleeping with his two stuffed froggies and his paci. In fact if allowed, he would have all 3 of them with him 24/7.
