A Fun Few Days!
The past few days have been a blast!
Thursday night, we went to the family fun fest at our Church, where Matthew goes to Mother's Morning Out. The boys had so much fun, and we had a great time chatting with our friends. They really did a great job putting it together! Kudos to Heather and Stacey (and whoever else was involved)!
Friday was a big day. Especially for Michael. It is the day he has been talking about for probably a month. The day Mom Mom comes. He was very disappointed though that he had to wait until 3 pm for her to come! Needless to say, there was no nap that day!
The boys and I went to the airport to pick her up. As soon as she came down the escalator, Michael went running to her with the picture he had made, yelling, "Mom Mom!". After hugs and kisses, he kept pointing to her and excitedly saying, "Mom Mom!" some more. She was finally here!
Friday night was the fall fest at Michael's school! Another wonderful gathering! We took Mom Mom along, and she got to meet one of Michael's teachers. Michael especially liked the big inflatable slide they had. It was hard to get him off.
Then today, we all went out to breakfast. Usually Greg just takes the boys out on Saturday mornings, for some "guy time" and so that Mommy gets a little time alone. But he invited me and Mom Mom to join today. It was very good!
And then came the big fun! We drove up to Flat Rock, NC (in the mountains) and went to Sky Top Orchard. My friend Anna had highly recommended it. She was right! We picked a full bushel of apples! Michael is such a great apple picker! We saw the ducks, geese, goats, sheep, and chickens, and even walked through a bamboo forest! We finished off with some time on the playground.
We completed dinner with a little bit of "moon cake". Mom Mom had asked if we had extra of Michael's birthday cake, if we could freeze a piece for her. So there it was. For weeks, Michael has been saying, "When Mom Mom comes, we're going to eat more moon cake!" He finally got his wish.
We are all exhausted!!!!! But only because we've been having such a great time!
