Our First Church Preschool Class

Last night, we had our first time teaching the 3K and 4K class at church. Since they just revamped the Wednesday night activities, we had no idea how many kids to expect.

We would up with 17 children. Yes, seventeen. Thankfully two of the moms offered to stay and help out. One hour with 17 children and only two adults would have been way too much!

A potty break was scheduled about halfway through the class, but 5 minutes after we started, 3 girls and about 7 boys had to go. Of course that set back our whole schedule. But hey, at that age, schedules are meant to be bent!

We wound up with a wonderful class. We started with coloring, then moved to circle-time. We talked about the first of the liturgical seasons of the church (Advent), sang some songs, and read a couple children's Bible stories. Then we moved on to our big take-home craft, paper advent wreaths. We wrapped up with more songs.

The kids looked so excited showing their coloring sheets and advent wreaths to their parents. I saw two of the moms this morning, and they said their kids said, "We had a great time!" That made us feel really good. It did seem like the kids enjoyed it, but it's good to have the feedback from the parents.

Here are a couple pictures from the class. A little fuzzy since I was moving around, but at least it's something. I'll try to get more next week when we do Christmas!
