Teaching!
It looks like Greg and I are becoming teachers! Our church was looking for volunteers to help with children's programs on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, so we let them know we could help. Yesterday we had a meeting to find out what we would be doing.
On Sunday mornings, we will be on a team that teaches the Faith Steps class to 3-5 year olds. Our team will teach every 4 weeks. Faith Steps is kind of a church-alternative for the little ones. It's more than nursery, but less than full-blown church. Seriously, how many 3 year olds can sit still for an hour of church? I know mine can't!
On Wednesday evenings, the two of us will be teaching the 3K class for the next 6 weeks! Just us! The series will be on the Liturgical Seasons of the Church. It starts with Advent, and moves through Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. Each week we cover a different season. We will read stories, sing songs, and do crafts.
We are very excited to be involved in this. Greg has taught children's church in the past in Texas, but I never have. We don't know how many kids to expect at this point, but hopefully there will be a good turnout!
Wish us luck as we start this new endeavor!
