Fall Back!
I love the fall! The cool weather... the beautiful colors... football...
And the fact that we get to turn the clocks back an hour!
I have always been convinced that somehow, this will allow me an extra hour of sleep. I'm not sure how that is supposed to work. But I guess being a parent, I look for any opportunity for sleep that I can find.
It actually may work out this year. Since Michael started school, he has to get up early on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To keep him on some kind of a schedule, we just go ahead and wake him up at the same time every day. At the same time, he has stopped taking a nap most days. (And when he does take one, it is near impossible to get him to bed in the evening.)
The problem is, without a nap, and with waking up early every morning, Michael is a little short on sleep. He needs to go to bed earlier.
So... we're hoping that starting Sunday night, it will feel to him like it is 8 pm when the clock says 7 pm. We'll go ahead and put him to bed based on his body-clock. But we will wake him up in the morning based on the electronic-clock. Which means if he sticks to that schedule (going to bed at 7 pm and waking up at 6:30 am), he'll be getting an extra hour of sleep.
At least that's what I am hoping...
