Justice for Tigger!

Another nut has shot accusations that Tigger assaulted them at Disney-MGM. Yes, I said another nut. There are so many things wrong with this story.

Here is a link to the raw video footage of the incident: http://www.wftv.com/video/10694967/detail.html

Watch it a few times. Right before the alleged punch, you can hear the father say either, "Don't crowd Tigger, man." or "Go crowd Tigger, man." Sounds more like the former to me. So the father must have seen that his son was doing something inappropriate.

Then watch how the son is with Tigger. He obviously has his hand grabbed on to something on the back of Tigger. Perhaps pulling his tail. The son is laughing. Tigger turns to try to get loose from the kid, and the kid does not let go. And the kid continues laughing. As Tigger turns to get the kid's arm off of him, Tigger's paw does in fact touch the boy's face. But he certainly did not "sucker-punch" him, as the father claims.

This 14 year old kid was up to no good. According to a local news channel, "In a statement made to the sheriff's office, [Michael] Fedelem [who was playing Tigger] said he was acting in self-defense. He claims that the child was pulling on his costume, causing him to lose his breath, according to the Local 6 News report." After viewing the video several times, there is no doubt in my mind that the man playing Tigger is telling the truth.

Take a look at the kid in the video too. He even looks like a punk. Scrubby shirt, something hanging from his pants, and he's wearing black gloves. (Don't tell me he was wearing the gloves because he was cold. He's wearing a sleeveless shirt!) The kid looks like the kind that causes trouble.

But funny how when his dad sticks him in front of the television cameras to be interviewed, he is suddenly all cleaned up. It's as if he had an image consultant come in to try to make the punk-kid suddenly look respectable. Ain't foolin' anyone, mister. And why would he parade his un-injured kid in front of the cameras anyway? If I ever thought my child had been assaulted, the last thing I would do is make sure his face is on worldwide television.

I've heard numerous interviews of the father as well. Just do a web search, and you're bound to find many. This guy is certainly basking in his 15 minutes of fame. That man comes across as very hot-headed. Sounds like the type that needs some anger-management classes. How can that man watch that video of his kid, think his kid didn't provoke Tigger, accuse Tigger of "sucker-punching" his kid, and now claim he is going to file a lawsuit against Disney. IDIOT.

There is a proper statement to issue here, and I would have had at least an ounce of respect if the father had gone this route. "We have confidence in the investigators and will allow them to do their jobs. We will have no further public comment."

He even went so far as to take his son to the hospital for his "injuries"! What, is this man an ambulance-chaser back in New Hampshire? If that kid needed hospital treatment (which he obviously didn't, based on his complete lack of any injuries or affects in his television interviews), then I better run to the emergency room the next time I break a fingernail.

Jerry Monaco, you are a sorry excuse for a father. You need to teach your son some personal responsibility. Not teach him that it is okay to taunt a children's character and then claim assault. Shame on you Jerry Monaco, and shame on your son for acting like a punk.

To Michael Fedelem, Tigger, all the other characters, and Disney: We have always found your employees to be of exemplary character. Having visited with young children multiple times, the characters have always been loving and kind. Disney has obtained the level of success that it has because hiring the right kinds of people has always been a top priority.

Jerry Monaco, go back to New Hampshire and get a life. Disney doesn't need visitors like you. Please leave the park to responsible citizens who won't try to stir up trouble on a nice family vacation.

We were just at Disney-MGM a few weeks ago. Tigger was amazing to our boys. Thank you, Tigger! We love you!

The way that Tigger grabs the boys hand before the punch and secures it makes me believe the punch was malicious.

Tigger didn't "grab his hand and secure it", anonymous. He twisted around trying to get the brat kid to let go of him.

And even if he did grab it and secure it (which he didn't), it was only after the brat kid was clearly grabbing on to something on the back of Tigger.

And good golly, you call that a "punch"? Shew, let's hope you never get in a real fight!

Gerry! With a G! Oh my gosh, you poor thing!

Of course when I saw your name on the post, I thought perhaps I had spelled HIS name wrong, and he was posting to tell me I was being added to his list of lawsuits... for slander or something. The guy apparently has nothing better to do.

G-Gerry Monaco = GOOD
J-Jerry Monaco = JERK

See, even the letters match!

Ditto to everything you said, I googled the story to see if anyone was talking SENSE about this video. Why does the kid's arm flex? When Tigger recoils why does he hop along? He has taken hold of something. And the way he looks? Yeah, what a little punk-wannabe...then on cbs the nerdy little kid with a "florida" shirt. Aww how innocent--bs. This family publically stated they 'just wanted an apology' I say Disney, give it to them and that's IT. When the family goes after money make THAT public and the then more people will come to realize what money-grubbing opportunists this family is.

Thanks for your comments, LD! I'm sure Disney will get through this fine. They have PR people and attorneys that this family could never match.

After the dad says something about being on his head, and "aw too much?" he says to the kids "no crowding tigger." To me, it sounds like he was trying to cover up the fact that he was crowding tigger. Like he was hanging on him, and was told not to, so he went and deflected the blame/attention to his kids by saying "no crowding tigger." I think he's just an idiot and so is his punk kid. I am also wondering why nothing new has surfaced, such as security camera footage or info. I KNOW Disney has cameras all over the place, so there's gotta be some evidence of what was going on behind Tigger's back, right? Hopefully we'll find out.. either way, Justice for Tigger is right!

How come there is no video from behind Tigger? Disney doesn't want prople to know the kid wasn't doing anything, that's why. How come the guy in the suit never came out? Do you know this kid or the family? if not you should hold your opinion, I heard the guy say he was looking for an appology from the 31yr old guy in the costume. Looks to me he locks the kids are and pulls him in to get a better shot. Play the video slow!

Hello Anonymous from NH. Friend of the Monaco's, I assume.

Why was there no video from behind Tigger? Why the heck SHOULD there be? You think Disney has people standing behind ever character filming everything that is going on? That is just idiotic.

I've played the video slow many times. And so have the 99% of the people in the country who agree that the brat kid was at fault.

With all your questions, let me ask you one. If Tigger was so at fault, why has there not been a single thing in the news about it in weeks? Where's the lawsuit? Where are the witnesses? (Certainly there would be plenty if Tigger was at fault!)

There are none because [hopefully] the Monaco's realize what idiots they were to try to blame Tigger to begin with.
