Super Sunday!

Okay, is there anyone who isn't blogging about the Super Bowl today?

We went to a wonderful party at my friend Jill's house. It was part Super Bowl party and part Super Commercial party! Oh no, that doesn't mean that we were sitting around discussing the commercials as much as the game.

Just ONE commercial. One of Jill's husband's ads premiered during the Super Bowl broadcast last night! His was the Michelin commercial. Yeah Adam! Great job!

The kids all had a blast playing together. Michael remembered going to their house for their son Jack's birthday party, so he kept asking where was the birthday cake. He was satisfied though with all the yummy foods and desserts that were offered.

I thought the pregame show started out horribly, but ended up great. I used to like Cirque du Soliel. But I thought their pregame performance was awful. I think I would have actually preferred to see some terrible heavy-metal band. Or just the Latin music that was being featured. Billy Joel did a wonderful job with the National Anthem though. One of the first renditions in a long time that was actually a true singing of the Star Spangled Banner. I hate when the goofy singers try to "make it theirs". It's not theirs. Stick to the tune.

With two little kids, we had to leave the party after the first quarter. We caught a little bit more at home, but then fell asleep early in the 3rd quarter. Let's face it, when you've got kids and jobs, you're just not as likely to stay up late... for anything.

I was glad this morning to find out that Indianapolis won. They were my preference. After all the stories my sister told me about the drunken Bears fans (she attended many games when the Bears did a season in Champaign, IL while their stadium was being built), I just could root for Chicago. I can't stand drunken fans. Besides, the Indianapolis coach has been through so much in the past 18 months. He deserved something good.

And so now we will have to find something else to do on Sundays for a few months until football starts up again.
