A One Track Mind

We dropped Mom Mom off at the airport this afternoon. Michael had a really rough morning. We had told him Mom Mom was leaving today. I guess he assumed that if he refused to get dressed and come downstairs, she couldn't leave. Finally he realized that it also meant he couldn't have anything to eat! So down he came.

After dropping Mom Mom off, Michael would not stop talking.

"Mom Mom go good-bye."
"Mom Mom come back to Michael's house."

Over and over again, it was the same thing. Poor little guy was so sad that she left. So is his mommy! So I guess now we pull out the calendar and start counting down the days until she comes again. Of course that visit was his other topic of conversation all afternoon.

"Mom Mom and Pop Pop come in their car to Michael's house."
"Gonna eat ice cream pie when Pop Pop comes!"

I don't know where the tie-in between ice cream pie and Pop Pop comes from, but somehow he linked them up.

On another topic, root beer. We love root beer. We love to try out new and interesting versions. So I couldn't pass up the 6-pack I saw at the Earth Fare store last week. Certified organic. Frankly I could give a hoot about organic, but I figured if they put effort in to it being organic, they might put effort in to it being tasty.

I was wrong. It was gross.

I looked on the can to see what kind of funky root or spice they had used in the brew. There are all kinds that show up on the fancy root beers. But this one surprised me.

Root beer flavor.

What? What they heck is "root beer flavor"? And wouldn't you think that something labeled "organic" would do better than that? Of course organic and all-natural are not the same things. And in this case, it was just nasty!
