A Wonderful Visit
It feels like a kind of blah day. Is it because it's raining on and off? Or is it because Mom Mom is leaving tomorrow? Probably the latter. We've been trying to explain to Michael that Mom Mom has to go bye bye to Mom Mom's house tomorrow. He keeps saying, "Mom Mom gonna come BACK to Michael's house!"
Don't worry dear. It's all planned. You'll see Mom Mom again soon. Pop Pop too.
Michael has had a blast since Mom Mom has been here. He loves crawling up in bed with her, giving her kisses, and even helping her pull yucky weeds in the back yard! It's like his very best friend has moved in for 10 days. They have such a lovely relationship.
Matthew has enjoyed having Mom Mom here as well, at least the extent that a 9 month old really has a clue! They've played together a lot, and Mom Mom has been able to spend extra time with him at the nursery at church. (In addition to helping with Michael's classes!)
Even Greg seems sad to have Mom Mom leave. Today he and I took Michael out to a lunch (a JUST MICHAEL lunch). He commented that it didn't seem like she had been here 10 days. That the time has gone way to fast. One is really lucky when their husband likes their mother-in-law as much as mine does!
So it has been a wonderful time. I just wish I could convince my parents to move closer. But alas, dad loves his work, and plans to work as long as he is physically and mentally able. (Yeah Dad! He's got about the strongest work-ethic I've ever seen... even at 74 years old!) Thankfully they like to travel a lot. And they are always ready for another trip here.
But still. There's not much we miss about the Washington, DC area. But the one thing we really do miss is Mom Mom & Pop Pop.
