Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a lovely Thanksgiving at home in Greenville. The morning was beautiful, so we went downtown for a nice walk. We started at the top end of Main Street and went all the way down and around Falls Park. Then back up to the car.Matthew enjoyed his first Thanksgiving dinner -- stuffing seems to be his favorite! And Michael finally got to eat some of the pumpkin and pecan pies he had helped make. Yumm!
But amongst all the turkey, pie, football, and traveling, let's make sure we remember what we are celebrating today. I think the Head of Michael's school put it great:
We have so much to be thankful for this year. A healthy family, wonderful friends, and a great home here in Greenville. Thank you to everyone who has helped make our first year in South Carolina so wonderful! Happy Thanksgiving to all!On December 21, 1620, the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. The winter they endured was brutally cold and the colony struggled with meager provisions, strenuous labor, the ravages of disease and a level of poverty for which they were completely unaccustomed to or prepared to handle. Nearly half of the 102 passengers from the Mayflower did not live to see Cape Cod Bay that spring.
God in His providence however, sent Indians to help the Plymouth Rock settlers learn to plant, hunt and fish in the New Land. History records that 90 braves accepted the invitation from the Pilgrims to celebrate the bountiful harvest of their first autumn. Indians and settlers joined together in a feast of Thanksgiving to God for His blessings.

Susan, I realized how adorable your sons were, but I had no idea your husband was so handsome! What a great family; you must be so proud.
