Untimely Marketing

According to the Greenville News:

The Blood Connection, the local community blood donation center, and Bruster's Real Ice Cream are teaming up for a blood drive on Sunday.

This year marks the second that the Blood Connection has partnered with the ice cream store to host the quarterly "Pint for a Pint" drive. All who donate a pint of blood Sunday will receive a free pint of Bruster's ice cream.

Normally I would say that this was a great piece of marketing. Especially since I am a lover of ice cream, and Bruster's definitely has some tasty treats.

But we're having a cold snap here in South Carolina. Tonight the temperature is supposed to go down to 17 degrees. That's not the windchill; it's the actual temperature. And yes it is Fahrenheit, not Celsius.

Perhaps they should have teamed up with Carolina Coffee Roasters, Liquid Highway, or Port City Java and offered free lattes and hot chocolate to those who donate.
