Cabin Fever Update
Thanks for the suggestions on how to get through another day of being stuck at home in a sick household! We're under a winter storm warning through the end of tomorrow, so I may be looking for even more ideas! (Of course a "winter storm" here either means ice or about 2 inches of snow.)
Michael (age 3 years, 5 months) really got in to his watercolor painting today. So a proud Mommy would like to display his first gallery.
We'll call his first piece, "Fruit". As you can see, he painted a "red apple", a "green apple", a "banana", lots of "grapes", and then a section he calls, "all colors".
We'll call his second piece, "Colors". I left him by himself to paint for a little bit, and when I came back, he set down his brush and said, "Done!". I was pretty amazed and how well he covered the entire page, and how the colors remain distinct. He didn't just keep putting colors on top of colors and creating a brown blob. I think this one is going in a frame!
Finally, we'll call this piece, "Love". Michael had me painting pictures today too, and I was making things with hearts that said, "Mommy loves Michael and Matthew." So Michael wanted one that said, "Michael and Matthew love Mom Mom and Pop Pop." After I wrote the words, I put the black line down the middle of the page and told him he could paint a picture on the other side. He did a great job painting right up to the line!
We'll see what kind of creative juices start flowing tomorrow!
