More on Swimming

Last night was "water safety" night at Michael's swim class. All the kids got to swim across the deep end with lifejackets on. Michael was one of only a couple (out of about 30) who were able to do it without holding on to the teachers. He was SO excited to be in the deep end!

Then they practiced getting in an inflatable boat that was on the deck.

The big finale was when they put the boat in the water, and had groups of kids climb in and go for a ride around the deep end, and then climb out again! Oh I wish I had taken my camera!

But Michael is not alone in his swimming accomplishments...

Matthew has really taken to the water too. He's always loved being in the water, but is almost always attached to my hip. He doesn't like to wear floaties or a swim vest. He can stand up on the shallow end (3') by himself.

On Sunday though, he was finally willing to use the noodle as a floatation device. He wrapped his arms over that thing and swam around the pool for about 20 minutes! No touching Mommy or Daddy the whole time!

We're so proud of our swimmers!
